February Dev Log
Hello everyone!
New month means new dev log!
This month has probably been the least productive, if I’m honest. I’ve been busy helping my family, keeping up with my health, getting my teeth cleaned (I personally like having my teeth very clean), and handling other stuff. Sadly, I also got sick and caught Bordetella pertussis. I got medicine and all that- thank you, healthcare, for saving me so much money.
Either way, what have I at least done?
First off, I semi-finished an RPG system- working combat and all. Sadly, the bag system didn’t work, so I removed it for now, but most of what you see here is already in the game.
I’ve also been designing some RPG screens to make them look at least somewhat clean. Haven’t fully settled on a nice look yet, but I took a bit of inspiration from OMORI. Might not keep the picture part, though, since it could be extra work. Just an idea I plan to add in.
Next up, Rank System, because you’ll be adventuring and fighting, so it only makes sense to have an adventure rank system.
A new app will be added to the in-game phone. Since it already has its name on it, I don’t plan to add extra text underneath like I do with other apps.
I also made the rank UI moveable so you can drag it around while on other menus- because why not?

Then lastly, the part many are probably most excited about—spells!
First one is healing, and the other is transformation! This lets you change your gender, though to keep things simple, I’ll mostly have this as a menu option rather than something that’s always active.

Mini-Games
There are also a few new mini-games I’ve been messing with:
- Chess Mini-Game - Got this from r3dhummingbird. Might implement it, but the small screen is an issue, so not final until I’m happier with it.
- Turn-Based Checkers with Triangle Elements - I can get it to boot, but turns don’t really work for now. If I can’t figure it out, I might scrap it and try a different approach.
- Othello - Same idea as the triangle thing, but just… Othello. Couldn’t get it to work at all, so I gave up on it pretty fast. Might look around for another way since Othello would actually fit my whole idea.
If nothing else works, I’ll most likely just go with chess and see if I can make it bigger.
That’s mostly it for now!
Not too much this time since I’ve been sick and surprisingly busy, but I plan to do more than just this.
